How do you dispose of used tools?
In compliance with European law, Milwaukee helps preserve the environment, in collaboration with approved companies specialised in the collection and recycling of old electrical devices. Please help us continue this effort by not disposing of your devices with household waste. The easiest way is to give them back to your power tools dealer. The power tool dealer will pass them on to the their local recycling center.
How long my tool is covered by warranty?
The warranty period is from the date of purchase. This date has to be documented by an invoice or other proof of purchase (receipt). The warranty period is one year for tools , batteries and chargers / in case of private users xx months for tool and cc months for batteries. The warranty applies only on new tool.
In certain cases the warranty for tools and batteries can be extended. The end user is required to register their newly-acquired tool online (www.milwaukeetool.eu ) within 30 days of the purchase date. The end user may register for the extended warranty in their country of residence if listed on the online registration form where this option is valid (please refer to the website).
What do I need to do before using any tool for the first time?

Where can I find the serial number of my tool?
The serial number is always located on the rating plate. Usually it is 6 digits including zeros, however it could differ slightly due to the label type.
Where can I find user manuals?

Enter the Model number (e.g. 456972 ) into the box provided and click on your tool from the ones shown. Click on select and then on the ‘Documents’ tab. You can now download and print the Owner’s manual.
Where do I find the model of my tool?
You can find the model of your tool, serial number and date code on the rating plate. This is a label that is adhered to the tool. The location will vary. Example – Model Name = M18CHIWF12, Model Number = 456972,
Serial Number = 001021, Date code = D2016
Repairs out of warranty
My Tool is out of warranty and in need of a repair, do I need to use an Authorised Service Centre?
No, as the Tool is out of warranty it does not need to be an Authorised Service Centre. However the repairer should be qualified.
We recommend on our website www.milwaukeetool.eu an “out of warranty” network of service centers which have the required knowledge.
What happens if I reject the repair quotation?
When you send your tool for an out of warranty repair you will have three options:
1. Accept the quotation and pay for the repair (diagnosis is free of charge)
2. Ask for your tool to be returned after diagnosis (you will have to pay for a portion of the diagnosis charge plus transportation cost)
3. Request the tool to be recycled (service centre may charge for initial diagnosis)
Why was my tool sent back to me disassembled?

I’ve bought a multi kit of Milwaukee tools. Do I need to register them as individual items?
Every tool and battery has a unique serial number that must be registered in order to extend the warranty. You will need the tools and batteries in front of you when registering.

I bought a power tool from the USA is it covered under warranty in EU?
Tools purchased from the USA are not covered under any form of warranty in the European Union and territory as they are nor CE certified.
When are burnt out motors not covered by warranty?
Warranty covers all defects due to faults in workmanship or material, this includes the motor. Burnt out motors can be the result of wrong power supply, overload and misuse. These cases would not be covered by the warranty. Diagnosis by the service centre will determine which situation is relevant.
Where can I take my faulty product during the warranty period?

Why was my tool refused a repair under warranty?
A tool can be rejected for repair under warranty due to the fault not being covered by our warranty conditions, this can be totally or partially. You can read these condition on our website www.milwaukeetool.eu.
Examples are: Water or mud ingress, burnt out motor, tool being dropped, general wear & tear.
